Entrance to the Wierschuur

De Wierschuur is located in North Holland, as the crow flies less than three kilometers from the Wadden Sea. The location has an end of the world feel, but is in fact via the A7 motorway easily accessible from the Randstad (conurbation Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague and Utrecht).

Direction Hoorn: from Hoorn take bus 135 in the direction of Den Oever. A mobi point has been set up in Den Oever where you can use a shared car or bicycle. From the bus station in Den Oever it is a beautiful, five-kilometre walk along a (cycle) path on the Wierdijk.

Direction Anna Paulowna: from the station take bus 658 to the bus stop Hippolytushoef. From there it is a two kilometer walk to the Wierschuur.

A7 from the direction Leeuwarden or Amsterdam.

  1. Exit Den Oever, drive under the motorway in the direction of Den Helder.
  2. At the Zingende Wielen restaurant, turn left; drive between the Zingende Wielen and the petrol station; turn right immediately after the petrol station.
  3. You are now driving on a minor road that runs parallel to the N99.
  4. After approx. 1 km this small road takes a sharp bend to the left.
  5. At the next T-junction turn left.
  6. The road meanders for about 400 metres through the hamlet.
  7. Immediately after the gap in the Wierdijk, turn left onto the Stroeërdijk.
  8. The Wierschuur is on the right-hand side.
